Season Preview: White West Division

The defending national champion Edmonton Hawks will look to become only the second team in Canadian major league sports to win a third consecutive championship. With virtually everyone back from last year's championship, there are really no major concerns for the Hawks this season. Quarterback Curtis Brewster is still very much in his prime, while wide receiver Bruce Cade is coming off a very strong rookie season. Also in the Hawks' favor is the weakness of their division. The Vancouver Braves are entering a rebuilding year while the expansion Northwest Polar Bears are not expected to make much noise in their first season. the Saskatoon Reapers will provide the main competition for Edmonton, but they have some issues to sort out on offense if they are going to be a real threat.

Season Preview: Red West Division

Winnipeg has gotten used to championship near-misses by now. The Canaries nearly always win the Central Baseball league only to collapse in the post-season, while hockey's Wilderness, a year after losing in the 2011 finals, came just a win away from earning a second chance last season. The football Wasps have been no different, reaching the Maple Leaf Bowl last season only to lose a heartbreaker to the Edmonton Hawks. One month later, management ensured that would not happen this season when they signed former league MVP Randell White to give Ben Goodrich another much-needed receiver. Equipped with the same conference championship team as last year along with the best wide receiver in the game, the Wasps enter 2012 as huge favorites.

Season Preview: White East Division

Steve Panettiere and the Toronto Crusaders are determined to prove that last season was no fluke. Despite the loss of longtime WR Randell White to Winnipeg, the Crusaders still boast the best backfield in the league, with Jaron Young leading the way. The Crusaders biggest hurdle in the division will be the return of a very strong Quebec Racers team. After an off-year, the league's strongest defense, lead by Ed McLellan, will be the team to beat once again the the White East.

Season Preview: Red East Division

Montreal once again enters the 2012 season as the strong favorites in the Red East Division. John Fenton will enter his 12th season leading the Shamrock's offence as Montreal will try to rebound from a disappointing 2011 season. The Toronto Royals will be close behind despite losing some key players in the off-season. Here is the projected order of finish for the division.
